Stress for providing healthy orientation to students

KHONSA, Jul 1: A 12-day workshop on ‘NIOS DElEd (National Institute of Open Schooling – Diploma in Elementary Education)’ concluded at NIOS DElEd Study Centre, Govt Hr Sec School, Khonsa today.

Gracing the valedictory function, Tirap DC P N Thungon lauded Study Centre Coordinator Sanwang Hosai and his team for their effort to make the workshop a fruitful one.

The chief guest called upon the trainees and teachers to re-dedicate themselves with utmost sincerity in the service of the students and the society. Expressing concern on the lackadaisical attitude of the students, he urged upon Principal N Akhang and others concerned to lay special emphasis on providing healthy orientation to the students in order to achieve holistic growth of theirs, including healthy living, discipline and sound conduct besides academic excellence.

The DC also emphasized on the need of fair conduct of all forms of examinations including those of NIOS.

He also highlighted the “people-friendly” and “pragmatic” measures adopted by the state govt citing the example of the creation of SSB in the state, which once set up, he felt, would ensure a transparent and effective recruitment process in jobs.

Later, the chief guest gave away prizes to the winners of literary competition held on the occasion of the 4th International Day of Yoga. The winners were Sunita Nath, Jitwang Kitnya, Ngunliam Wangsachia, Ngunham Gangsa, Liennya Lama, Dasang Pansa, Aishwarya Suman, Weiwang Wangsu, Tanwang Lowang, Tsering Tamang, Wanggo Socia, D Ghosh, Kamran Aran, Ananya Dutta and Nacha Anna.
