DC takes stock of edu scenario in Siang dist

PANGIN, Jul 2: Siang Deputy Commissioner Rahul Singh chaired a coordination meeting of Education department conducted here today and attended by all admin officers of the district including ADCs, EACs and COs, DDSE and BEOs, BRCCs, CRCCs, Principals and headmasters among others.

The DC, in his address, stated that the objective of the meeting was to apprise all concerned about the new schemes launched by the State Govt namely Chief Minister’s Samast Shiksha Yojana, Dronacharya Gurukul Yojana, Adhunik Pathshala Yojana and the second phase of Adhunik Shiksha Yojana (ASY).

Apart from these schemes, he also informed about various ongoing schemes and other initiatives being undertaken by the govt in education sector. He took stock of the requirements of all schools in different blocks of the district from the respective BEOs and directed them to undertake inspection of all schools in their block and submit a report on the same to him.

He also sought information from the officers concerned about timely and adequate supply of books and uniform in schools, biometric machines and operation of the smart classroom devices which were installed in the first phase of ASY, the implementation of mid day meal scheme in the district etc.

He gave strict directions to all admin officers to hold consultations with the public in their respective jurisdiction within a week to seek their opinion and know their needs and priorities and in coordination with the BEO of their respective jurisdiction prepare proposals incorporating these findings.

The DC also directed that henceforth all teaching faculty availing leave would have to route their applications through the concerned admin officer so as to end the practice of unauthorized absence by the teachers. He also directed the concerned admin officers to undertake weekly inspection of schools and submit reports on the same to him.

All admin officers were also directed to visit a school and attend classes every Monday as per the roster system prepared to monitor the functioning of schools.

Speaking about the poor performance of the district in the recently concluded exams, the DC stated that hard work of all teachers would be recognized while action would be taken against the poor performing teachers. He also warned strict action against the absentee teachers. He urged everyone present to cooperate, coordinate and work their level best to improve the education scenario in the district.

DDSE Tanyang Tatak apprised the gathering about all activities being undertaken by Education department in the district, and responded to various queries put forth by the participants.

An update on all necessary requirements of the schools, shortages, problems and other issues being faced by the schools and teachers of different blocks in the district was given by the respective BEOs. (DIPRO)
