Kambu tp be set up as model village under CMAGY

KAMBA, Jul 2: Parliamentary Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs, Nyamar Karbak today laid the foundation stone for Kambu model village under Chief Minister’s Adarsh Gram Yojana (CMAGY) here.

Kambu, which falls in Kamba circle of West Siang district, is one of the oldest villages under Liromoba Assembly constituency and has a population of more than 600.

Addressing a gathering of PRIs, GBs and the locals of the area, Karbak said, “The conversion of Kambu into a model village would go a long way in developing the area as it would now be provided with 24×7 piped drinking water, electricity, primary school, primary health infrastructure, internal roads, avenues of employment generation and open defecation free status.”

Asserting all developmental activities in the constituency would be taken up in phased manner, Karbak, who is also the local MLA, assured that all the villages which fall under Liromoba AC would soon be converted into a model village.

He called upon the locals to always keep the surroundings clean and asked the stakeholders to extend cooperation so that the objective of a model village is achieved, as envisioned by Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

Under CMAGY a total of 60 model villages (one village per Assembly constituency) will be developed initially within a period of two years.

A total outlay of Rs 1.5 crore would be provided in three phases for the physical and infrastructural development of the said village.

West Siang BJP in-charge Tayek Goi called upon the youths to take up economic activities in rural tourism, agriculture etc and also take advantage of the schemes and policies launched by the State and Central governments.

Among others, Aalo DPO Henge Riba and CO Sara Borang were present.
