Rebia visits ‘flood’ hit Hollongi Patila village

YUPIA, Jul 3: Environment & Forests Minister Nabam Rebia visited Hollongi Patila village, which was reportedly inundated due to heavy downpour yesterday.

He was accompanied by Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Dr Joram Beda, ADC in-charge cum EAC Nabam Tajik, all concerned heads of departments and Dy Commandant of 12th Bn of NDRF, Pranab Daimary.

The Minister inspected the affected area and interacted with the locals and assured every possible solution to their problem. He directed the EE, WRD to work out the plan to protect the area from further inundation.

On receiving reports of skin rashes from locals and to prevent outbreak of diseases, the DC directed the DMO Papum Pare to arrange to deploy a team of specialist medical officers at the spot to monitor the situation and give health care facilities to the affected people.

As per team inspection, 16 to 17 houses were affected causing untold miseries to the inhabitants. (DIPRO)
