33 KV line snapped, again post temporary restoration

PASIGHAT, Jul 4: The lone 33 KV line, feeding entire areas of Mebo sub-division and parts of Lower Dibang Valley district, snapped by uprooting of a few electrical poles at Siku river crossing point in the wee hours today due to soil erosion by flooding Siku river, was temporarily restored for less than an hour.

However, fault was reported 40 minutes after “successful charging” of the line thereby plunging the concerned areas under complete darkness till the filing of this report.

The department of Power is still checking the line despite incessant rainfall. The Executive Engineer has requested all consumers to bear with the inconvenience at this hour of calamity. (DIPRO)
