GoAP hails Centre nod to MSP rise for Kharif crops

ITANAGAR, Jul 4: Govt of Arunachal Pradesh has welcomed the increase in the Minimum Support Price for all Kharif crops for 2018-19 season, which was approved today by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Informing about this, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein termed the CCEA decision as “historic” and said: “It will help achieve the objective of doubling farmers’ income by 2022 and will give much needed succour to the farmers.”

In support of his attribution, the Dy CM said: “The decision of the CCEA is a historic one as it redeems the promise of the pre-determined principle of fixing the MSPs at a level of at least 150 percent of the cost of production announced by the Union Budget for 2018-19.”

Further, Mein said that the steps taken on MSP increase for all Kharif crops for 2018-19 season by the Union Govt under the leadership of  Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in the true spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikash”.
