Sensitization program on NTCP held

AALO, Jul 6: A sensitization cum orientation programme on National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) and Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Act was held at the conference hall of DC office here today.

Chairing the programme, West Siang Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan said that many of the shopkeepers are selling tobacco products in restricted areas and most of them selling these items without any valid trading licence authorizing them to sell such products. She stressed on checking of such shops by the concerned department to contain growing use of such products by the students.

DMO Dr Nyage Geyi outlined the importance of the sensitization and orientation programme and emphasized the need to work cohesively to give awareness to the school children on ill effects of these products. (DIPRO)
