Defending champion CCFC pound AUFC 5-0 in Arunachal Women’s League opener

ITANAGAR, Jul 7: Defending champion Capital Complex FC pounded Arunachal United FC (AUFC) 5-0 in the opening match of Arunachal Women’s League played at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Naharlagun today.

In a one sided affair, Techi Akung of CCFC opened the scoring for her team in 9th minute of first half. Roshni Ramching (21st minute) and Tamchi Yapi (29th) extended the lead for their team.

Continuing with their attacking tactics in first half, CCFC started second half on a high note. Several attempts were made by their forwards and that finally paid off when two brilliant individual goals were scored by Nabam Kamyi (73rd minute) and Nabam Ata (78th).

Attending the inaugural ceremony, Sports Authority of Arunachal vice chairman Nich Doni emphasized on the importance of sports in one’s life to stay fit, disciplined and to learn team work. He assured APFA and sports fraternity as a whole to provide every possible help from SAA for development of sports in the state.

In tomorrow’s matches, Arunachal SC will take on Deed Circle FC followed by the second outing between Upper Subansiri DFA and All Hija Sports Association.
