‘Jan Sunwai Sammelan’ conducted at Khonsa

KHONSA, Jul 7: The Tirap district administration conducted “Jan Sunwai Sammelan” at the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Saturday, providing various services to the general public under one roof.

While interacting with the crowd that included Tirap Widows Welfare Association members, GBs, farming community, students and educated unemployed youths, Additional Deputy Commissioner Techu Aran suggested them to avail all benefits under PM/CM’s flagship schemes. He also called for mandatorily obtaining Aadhaar card and bank accounts from concerned authorities to avail benefits of welfare schemes such old age pension, widow pension, students stipend, etc through direct benefit transfer (DBT) system.

Church leader Rongam Rangyang, on behalf of TWWA, appealed the Govt officers to help the widows in obtaining Aadhaar card, bank accounts opening and other facilities. Rangyang informed that there are more than 300 widows in the district who are facing untold problems to support their livelihood and children’s education as well.

Apart from the basic services delivery like issuance of forms for free LPG connection under PM Ujjwala Scheme, ST certificate, PRC, ration card, and for social security schemes like, PMJJBY, PMSBY, the program witnessed the ADC handing over sanction letter for bank loan under CM Krishi Rinn Yojana to four beneficiaries and Soil Health Cards with farming kits to six progressive farmers.

The department of PHE&WS, Khonsa led by Er Bamang Tasung and consultant Doii Tarak imparted awareness training and demonstrated with the help of kits on using boiled water to avoid water borne diseases and urged all to live a hygienic life by using sanitary toilets.

The departments of Health & Family Welfare, Education, District Industries Centre, Legal Metrology, Block Development Officer, Khonsa, ICDS, Tax & Excise, Judicial Branch, Land Records, Labour & Employment, and Power also partook and gave awareness to the public on various schemes under their respective departments.
