City police arrests 3 mobile snatchers

ITANAGAR, Jul 14: The police on Friday arrested three youths for snatching a mobile phone from a student of Govt Hr Sec School, Itanagar in the heart of capital city, besides recovering the phone within one hour of occurrence.

SP (Capital) M Harsha Vardhan said that the three scooty-borne youths snatched the student’s mobile phone from a location near his school and sped away. On receipt of verbal complaint from the schoolboy, a police team consisting of SDPO (Itanagar) Kamdam Sikom, DySP (P) Moyir Basar Kamdak and SI Surender Singh swiftly swung into action and arrested the three accused persons with snatched Samsung mobile phone within an hour from Gompa area.

The accused have been identified as Yuchak Tana, Tadar Rar and Rohan Tamang. It was found that all three arrested accused are having criminal records, informed the SP, adding that a case (No. 201/18) has been registered at Itanagar PS under section 392/34 of Indian Penal Code in this connection.

The SP, meanwhile, appealed the denizens of Capital Complex to report any incident of crime in their area to the police without any fear, while asserting that people’s cooperation is required to detect and solve any criminal case.
