GSS Kiyit holds parent-teachers meet

ITANAGAR, Aug 9: A parent-teacher meeting was conducted at Govt Secondary School (GSS), Kiyit in East Siang district on Tuesday. The school has been adopted by Mebo MLA cum Advisor to CM, Lombo Tayeng.

Resolving to improve the overall academic environment of the school, the parents and teachers during the meeting emphasized on strict implementation of school rules and regulations.

After threadbare discussion, five ‘major’ decisions were taken: minimum 75% attendance compulsory to sit for examination; implementation of detention policy; ban on use of cell phones by students in the school campus; maintenance of teachers’ diary recording students’ behaviour; and imposition of fine and punishment, including rustication, for irregularities in class.

SMC chairman Lining Pertin, in his address, urged the teachers, students and parents to comply with the rules and regulations for further improvement of the students of GSS Kiyit.

While the school headmaster Abong Lego spoke on the advantages of various schemes like stipend, Vidya scheme, sanitary napkin etc, Ojing Ratan, TGT said that progress of the students depends on the joint effort of parents and teachers.

BRP Mebo, David Ratan said the parents should cooperate with teachers and guide their wards properly so that teaching-learning process can be easier.

One of the alumni of GSS Kiyit, Dr Tatlom Pertin, MO, Mebo PHC urged all the students to maintain good health and hygiene so that they can concentrate fully on learning.
