Newly designed Mahila Cong flag launched

Itanagar, Sep 15: APCC president Takam Sanjoy and senior Congress leader Nabam Tuki (MLA & ex-Chief Minister) launched the newly designed Mahila Congress flag in presence of All India Mahila Congress general secretary and in-charge of Arunachal Pradesh SS Kim and APMCC president Nabam Yakum in a function at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan here on Saturday on the occasion of 35th Mahila Congress Foundation Day. Among others, APCC office bearers, frontal organizations, Mahila Congress office bearers of State, District, City and Block units also attended the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjoy called upon the Mahila Congress members to come forward and work unitedly to fight against the evil & communal forces in the country. He also called upon them to have zero tolerance towards any atrocities against women, as nobody is above the law.

Tuki, in his speech, stressed on the need to change the patriarchal mindset towards women at all spheres of society, saying we should give proper value to every woman which they deserve. He added that the women should be given equal opportunity to help them enjoy a dignified life.

Earlier, the APCC chief hoisted the Mahila Congress flag at the part headquarter. In addition, an oath was administered to all the members present in the programme to follow the values, ideals and responsibilities of the Congress Party.
