Felix for far-sighted planning to live harmoniously with Mother Nature

BOMDILA, Sep 16: Giving a clarion call for conservation of nature and natural resources, IPR &Printing, RWD & Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bamang Felix advocated far-sighted planning in order to live harmoniously with Mother Nature.

“Development and expansion should not be made at the expense of nature. Education and awareness is the only way out,” the Minister said this while attending the first general body Conference of the Dirang Employees’ Welfare Society today at Leung Gompa, Dirang in West Kameng district.

Lauding the role of the Society, Felix said that it has done a remarkable job in bridging the gap between the elder and the younger generations by acknowledging their role and achievement and felicitating them thereby encouraging others in pursuit of success in one’s chosen field.

Felix observed that the Society besides working for the welfare of Dirang employees has been instrumental in many other pioneering works for the Dirang Monpa community. He conceded that it’s time for the learned and the employed to give back something to it.

Expressing his optimism, Felix hoped that there would be a better co-ordination between the legislators and the govt employees to materialize the policy and programmes of the govt and to deliver it to the last man standing in the queue.

Acknowledging the request of Society president Dorjee Phuntso for maintenance of PMGSY roads in the area which are in a dilapidated condition, Felix assured that as and when the proposal for grant of maintenance fund is approved, necessary maintenance works of all PMGSY roads in the state would be taken up starting from Dirang.

He assured to extend all possible help to the Society in carrying out its noble works for the people of the area.

Earlier, advisor to CM cum MLA Japu Deru called upon the CBOs and other societal organizations to forgo personal gains and glory and dedicatedly work for the welfare of the society without any bias.

Lauding the endeavours of the Society, Dirang MLA Phurpa Tsering committed to stand by the yeomen services initiated by the Society and congratulated DIG SSB Sonam Yudron and Everester Dr Anshu Jamsenpa (both native of Dirang) for their achievements and being a role model for the younger generation, especially the girls.

During the programme, the Society felicitated its retired members and achievers too in various fields from the area. (DIPRO)
