Recruit more indigenous youths in banking sector: CM to SBI

ITANAGAR, Sep 21: Chief Minister Pema Khandu while pitching for providing the educated unemployed of Arunachal Pradesh with job avenues has urged upon the State Bank of India, Indian multinational, public sector banking and financial services company, to recruit more indigenous youths of the State in banking sector.

The Chief Minister also batted for holding clerical staff recruitment examinations in Itanagar.

Khandu made these pleas before Chief General Manager of SBI Sunil Kumar Tandon, who called on the former here today. The CGM was accompanied by a host of officials.

The officials present had discussion with the Chief Minister on coordination and support of the bank to make the implementation of state and central flagships programmes in the state a grand success.

During the meeting, the CM requested the SBI for active participation in implementation of CM Bunkar Yojana and Swavalamban Yojana. The bank assured to come back with MoU for Deen Dayal Swavalamban Yojana in months time.

He also called for increasing beneficiaries under PM Jan Dhan Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana.

Throwing light on setting up customer service points in unbanked blocks, Khandu called for making the CSPs more efficient wherever these have been established.

While requesting the SBI to recruit more number of indigenous youths in the bank so that that the unemployed will have jobs opportunities, the CM urged them to conduct clerical staff recruitment exams in Itanagar.

Others present on the occasion were Kaling Tayeng, Finance Commissioner, Y W Ringu, Secretary Finance and Dr Gyanendra Mani, GM, NABARD. (CMO)
