AMSU plea for improved schools infrastructure

ITANAGAR, Oct 1: The All Memba Students’ Union while expressing serious concern over dilapidated condition of school infrastructures of various upper primary and primary schools in Mechukha circle of West Siang district today urged the authorities concerned to initiate necessary steps towards addressing the problem at the earliest possible.

AMSU president Sange Tsering Sona informed that some of the schools are on the verge of being defunct due to ‘poor’ enrolment of students. The children belonging to poor family backgrounds are going to face problem as they cannot afford private institution for quality education. He attributed the deteriorating condition of school infrastructures to be the ‘cause’ of weak enrolment of the students.

Earlier, the AMSU has earlier organized an educational campaign during which it found that various schools are not functioning upto the mark “due to irresponsible behaviour of the concerned authority”.

The union urged the Govt and the concerned authority to initiate necessary measures to solve the genuine problems faced by the students of Mechukha circle and to improve the schools’ infrastructures.
