DA operation to drive away stray animal continues

ITANAGAR, Oct 4: District Administration Capital Complex continued with its operation to drive away stray animals from Naharlagun to Nirjuli area as a team led by CO Naharlagun Neelam Teji, Senior Vety Officer (IMC) Dr G Piel and Vety Officer (Forest) Dr Sorang Tadap monitored taking out of 17 animals.

Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan has requested the denizens of Capital Complex to cooperate with the DA and to refrain from letting their animals out in the open which results in various nuisance like traffic problems, unhygienic atmosphere etc.

The DC informed that the DA will continue with the drive while also observing prevention of cruelty to Animals Act.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate had also issued an order wherein he directed all concerned to confine their domestic animals at their rearing places by 27th September, 2018.

Combining all the earlier drives, the DA has driven away a total of around 60 stray animals till date.
