‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign concludes at RGU

ITANAGAR, Oct 5: The ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign concluded at the Rajiv Gandhi University auditorium today, which was launched on 20th September last. During the fortnight-long sanitation drive of ‘clean and green’ RGU, all the departments, colonies, hostels and various cells and branches took active part in cleaning their vicinity in particular and RGU campus in general.

Several departments raised flower gardens, cleaned the surroundings and various awareness programmes were organized.

Students of Department of Social work and NSS volunteers performed ‘nukkad natak’ in various locations of the campus for awareness creation.

The concluding ceremony was attended by Prof Saket Kushwaha, new RGU vice chancellor, Prof Tomo Riba and Prof Amitava Mitra, former VC in-charge.


Siang hostel received the cleanest hostel award, department of Computer Science & Engineering the cleanest department, the tenement colony received the cleanest colony award and UGC-Project cell was adjudged as the cleanest branch/cell. All the award winning teams received a trophy and cash award of Rs 5000 each.
