AAPSU, NESO delegates to meet HM today

NEW DELHI, Oct 9: A delegation of All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) under the banner of North East Students’ Organization (NESO) along with other constituent members viz. AASU, NSF, AMSU, MZP, KSU, GSU, TSF will call on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at his North Block office here tomorrow to hold parleys on various issues pertaining to the NE region including demand for scrapping of the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016. Plea for separate time zone for North Eastern states, demand for declaring the recurrent flood problem in the NE region as a national problem are likely to figure in the meeting.

AAPSU general secretary Tobom Dai, who is leading the AAPSU delegation, informed that apart from several issues of Arunachal like, refugee row, inter-state boundary issue, stapled visa issue, NESO has been gracious enough to include the recent Siang flood problem in its charter of demand this time.

He also informed that the NESO will stage a sit-in dharna at Jantar Mantar on October 11 to press for its demands.
