ANSU demands magisterial probe into Talo GHSS fire

ITANAGAR, Oct 9: The All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) has demanded a magisterial inquiry into the recent fire incident that devastated the Govt Higher Secondary School, Talo in Lower Subansiri district.

An ANSU team led by its president Toko Takam and general secretary Tukbom Ligu along with All Yachuli Students Union members has on Monday visited the fire-ravaged school and expressed shock and serious concern over the unfortunate incident.

The ANSU urged the Lower Subansiri DC to grant fund for immediate procurement of desks, benches, and other necessary infrastructure so that the normal teaching-learning process in the school can be started soon. It also demanded that the State Govt reconstruct the classrooms under the Chief Minister’s Samast Shiksha Abhiyaan.

The school Principal expressing shock over the fire mishap that completely gutted the school infrastructure said that the school could not run until and unless the Govt take a favourable decision. Almost all the books, furniture, documents of students and staff were reduced to ashes, he said, adding that an FIR has been filed with the Ziro police station. The matter has also been informed to the higher authority and hoped that the problem will be solved.
