GoAP initiative for EK on edu front hailed

SEPPA, Oct 11: The East Kameng Social Welfare & Cultural Organization (EKSWCO) has hailed the state govt for its initiative to open an Agriculture College and RK Mission School in the district.

Reacting to Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s announcement for establishment of the first Agriculture College in the district during the foundation stone laying ceremony at Lumdung village on October 9 last, the EKSWCO said it is a pragmatic step towards inclusion of East Kameng in the state govt’s #ArunachalRising agenda.

In an emailed note, the Org pressed the state govt to post more subject teachers to the district while claiming inadequacy of subject teachers had led to poor performance of students in previous year’s exams and also to retain the doctors “under order of transfer without relievers’ as the district is already facing acute shortage of doctors.

EKSWCO chairman Khya Safar Pao expressed his concern saying “transferring of multiple doctors at a time is an unprecedented move by State Govt which could create unimaginable hardship for the people.”
