APU conducts Second Convocation

PASIGHAT, Oct 16: The Apex Professional University (APU), Pasighat conducted its second convocation on Monday last at the premises of College of Horticulture and Forestry, Pasighat, which was presided over by Acharya Dhanwant Singh, founder and chancellor APU, Pasighat.

The chancellor presented scholastic medals to the students of the university.

Delivering convocation address, Singh reflected on quality of higher education and stressed on scientific teaching in universities and also on cultivation of capacity to think analytically and critically.

He also emphasized that if India is to create world class universities and provide high quality education to its students, it desperately needs to attract world class scholars and scientists, principally from abroad.

Calling students the ‘Ambassadors of APU’, the chief guest called upon the graduating students to show utmost sincerity and integrity towards a new phase they have entered while expressing satisfaction over the way APU has taken off.

The guest of honour, Dr M Vasant Karkare while congratulating the graduating students also made an appeal to use their wisdom and enthusiasm to embrace the responsibility to build a prosperous Arunachal. The region is not just about poverty and backwardness but more to do with the potential and determination, he said.

“The students passing out from the university can go anywhere in the world and work but they owe something to their own state and should also work here so that the state progresses,” said Dr Karkare.

On the occasion, APU Chancellor conferred Degree to 97 students which include 49 BA students, 14 M Sc students, 11 B Sc students, 10 BLIC students and 13 MA students. 10 programme toppers were also honoured with the APU Gold Medal by the dignitaries present.

ADC Pasighat (HQs) Tatdo Borang and a host of officers were also present.
