Skill development training on organic farming conducted

TAWANG, Dec 5: A skill development training on organic farming & use of modern technique was today conducted for the farmers at Khartoth village by the Deputy Director of Agriculture, Tawang under the Border Area Development Programme.

Participating in the programme as resource person, KB Kayastha, ADO Tawang explained the farmers about different technologies of organic farming so that they can enhance their farm income for better livelihood, while SMS (Plant Protection), KVK Tawang, Lakshmipriya Borah spoke on eco-friendly management of pests in vegetable crops. Circle Officer of Kitpi, T W Thongdok asked the farmers to adopt organic farming practices which are eco-friendly. Earlier, DDA Tawang Lobsang Zimba, in his welcome address, briefed the farmers about the objectives of the training programme.

During interaction session, the farmers got their doubts cleared from the resource persons. Different inputs like vegetable seeds, organic nutrients, bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, sprayers and agricultural tools were also distributed among the trainees on the occasion.
