TCL has been deprived of under Central schemes, admits CM

BORDURIA, Dec 5: Chief Minister Pema Khandu while admitting to the fact that Tirap Changlang Longding (TCL) region has been deprived of under Central schemes has stressed that the present govt is ensuring that further deprivations do not continue.

In this regard, Khandu informed that 21-Km Terung to Sumsi Pathar has been approved under central scheme for Rs 20 crore.

He informed this while beginning his second day of Arunachal Rising Campaign (ARC) here today.

Khandu was accompanied by Dy CM Chowna Mein, Advisor to CM Wanglin Lowangdong, DoTCL Minister Wangki Lowang, MLA Wanglam Sawin and State BJP president Tapir Gao.

Chief Minister on his arrival at Borduria circle paid homage to late Hangpan Dada at his memorial here. He also met late Dada’s wife Chasen Lowang and had discussion with the Army officers for development of the memorial. Chief Minister requested Tirap DC to submit a DPR for work on memorial and assured Rs 2 crore as initial fund to start the work in this financial year.

Later, the CM inaugurated the office of CO while Dy CM opened the Inspection Bungalow.

Attending a public meeting, Khandu congratulated the people of Borduria circle for the new CO office. He said if people demand then the state govt is willing to upgrade the Borduria circle to sub-divisional headquarters.

Responding to a public memorandum, Chief Minister assured on establishment of circle office at Longo, construction of Tirap Chief Council office and construction of 21-Km Joypur-Hukanjari road.

On Sainik School front, the CM promised to start one for eastern Arunachal in the next session and assured to establish it in the TCL region.

Launching the ARC, Chief Minister gave away cash prizes and certificates to best ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and progressive farmers from Borduria circle. He also distributed blankets to gaon burahs of the circle.

Mein, Lowangdong and Gao also spoke.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister launched the ARC at Katang today in presence of Chowna Mein, Wangki Lowang, Wanglin Lowangdong, Wanglam Sawin and Tapir Gao.

Earlier, he laid the foundation stone for multi-storeyed parking lot for Khonsa town to be constructed under CM district innovation & challenge fund. He also inaugurated the administrative headquarters for Bari-Basip circle, augmentation of water supply to Khonsa township under NLCPR and laid the foundation stone for Police Station at Katang.

DyCM also inaugurated the office of CO at Katang.

Speaking at a public function in Katang, CM assured to fill the manpower gap for the new administrative circle headquarters of Bari-Basip. He said the Bari-Basip administrative headquarters was first approved by former CM late Dorjee Khandu including the one for Borduria and Chubam.

On the occasion, Chief Minister released the 4-year progress report of local MLA Wanglam Sawin and appreciated him for transparency and efficiency.  He gave away cash prizes and certificates to best ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and progressive farmers from Bari-Basip circle. He also distributed blankets to gaon burahs of the circle. (CMO)
