Instill a sense of competitiveness among students: Dy CM Meinechonewsmark

NAMSAI, May 5: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has called for inculcating a sense of competitiveness among the students of Arunachal Pradesh to bring them at par with their counterparts from other parts of the country.

He was addressing the scholars during an inaugural function of new campus building for Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) here today.

Mein said that the professor of the University has greater responsibility to impart quality education to the students to make them come to terms with employment.

“Before establishment of this private university, it was a genuine question for the masses how far they can provide good quality education and after observing its past four years performances, the people have expressed its satisfaction on AUS services,” he said.

Informing on creation of 2541 posts by the govt for developing “shocking” education scenario, Mein appealed the govt to adopt “own-station recruitment policy instead of existing outstation candidate formula”.

Parliamentary Secretary Chow Tewa Mein, in his address, said that now a days more and more private and govt run institutions are coming up that have opened the doors to the younger generation for attaining higher education.

In his address, Parliamentary Secretary Chow Zignu Namchoom said that the AUS is imparting quality education in science, commerce and arts streams while appealing not to treat the university only for the people of Namsai but as a property of the whole of the State.

There is not shortcut to gain success in life, he said. (UNI)
