SFS College, Aalo celebrates decennial
ITANAGAR, Mar 20: To mark successful completion of 10 years of its service in the field of education, St Francis De Sales College, Aalo celebrated it with a colourful programme on March 18 last.
With a motto ‘Light to enlighten’, SFS College, Aalo was established on 18th March 2007 and since then the institute is imparting all educational requirements to the students of the State.
Parliamentary Secretary for Sports &Youth Affairs Nyamar Karbak attended the function as chief guest, while Rev Fr George Parampukattil, General Secretary for Education MSFS, and Rev Fr Emmanuel Mappilaparampil, the Regional Superior MSFS as guest of honour and special guest respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest congratulated the college management on successful completion of 10 years in its service in the field of education. He also lauded the management for imparting all educational requirements to the students of Siang belt in particular and state in general.
Karbak, who himself is a keen sportsperson, advised the students to take part in extracurricular activities such as games and sports besides studies.
While disclosing that the state govt under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu is giving top priorities to youth based policies and programmes such as education and games & sports, Karbak, informed that the new sports policy will benefit the meritorious sportspersons.
“The youths of state especially meritorious sportspersons will reap the benefits of new sports policy soon,” asserted Karbak, adding under the present CM the state will witness “new heights” of development in every field.
In a bid to encourage the students, Karbak announced to give one Table Tennis board and to allot fund for the construction of a football field and volleyball court for the college.
Further, he suggested the parents to guide their children in right direction so that they become good citizens in days to come.
Earlier, Fr Vipin George, the college principal, acknowledged the services rendered by many fathers, sisters, staff and well wishers who contributed their best for the growth of this institution and felicitated them with shawls and mementos.
The celebration was also attended by the parents, special invitees, advisory board members and alumni.
The main attractions of the day-long programme were various colourful cultural shows, presented by the students.
