DC opens permanent vending zone at Naharlagunechonewsmark

ITANAGAR, Oct 12: Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex Prince Dhawan today inaugurated the permanent vending zone at Naharlagun in presence of Dy Chief Councillor Tarh Nachung, Empowered Standing Committee Member (IMC) Gora Tallang, EAC Naharlagun Hento Karga and CMEO Habung Lampung among others, according to an official press note.

Speaking as chief guest on the occasion, the DC highlighted the importance of vendors in our daily life. He stressed that no house can run without the vendors and therefore it is necessary to recognize their services and to have proper designated vending zones in Capital Complex.

Lauding the efforts of EAC Naharlagun, IMC, All Arunachal Pradesh Hawkers and Street Vendors Federation (AAPHSVF) etc for successful establishment of the vending zone, he hoped that they would continue to provide their support to the District Administration.

Calling everyone a stakeholder, the DC urged them to work in coordination with each other and to acknowledge the effort that was put by everyone. He also directed the AAPHSVF to ensure that such vendors run their business only at the designated locations.

He also stressed that cleanliness should be maintained at any cost. As our district is at 216th position in cleanliness, we should all try to give our best to bring our district Capital Complex to the top 10.

As door to door collection has already started, the DC informed that new vehicles have been procured and additional NGOs and labour have been hired to ensure complete cleanliness in Capital Complex.

Stating that now the workers would come to every door to collect the garbage, the DC sought cooperation of every citizen of Capital Complex to make it a success.

He further stressed that import of agricultural products from other districts should be encouraged but discipline should be maintained at any cost and we should not allow mushrooming of vendors at places other than designated vending zones.

During the programme, the DC also issued identity cards and uniforms to the vendors.
