State records 5 new cases, 7 recoveries


ITANAGAR, Jan 12: The State’s daily cases (five) were outnumbered by recoveries (seven), continuing the recent trend. With this, the tally of confirmed cases has shot up to 16,782 comprising a further receded active cases (61) and more enhanced total discharged cases (16,665) coupled with 56 fatalities, stated a bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services here this evening.
West Kameng and Tawang reported two new cases each, while a single case came from Changlang.
Among the newly infected, two are military personnel from West Kameng.
Four of the total cases turned out to be asymptomatic and one symptomatic, as per the bulletin.
On the brighter side, Itanagar Capital Complex recorded three cured cases. Leparada discharged two, as East Siang and Namsai sent home one case each.
With more positive cases being discharged, the State’s recovery rate has advanced to a record high, which presently stands at 99.30 percent.
The State has as of now collected a total of 3,84,536 samples for COVID testing, of which 498 were collected on Tuesday, according to the health bulletin.
