Techi Neri wins MoM, MoS awards

ITANAGAR, Jan 13: Keeping pace with their status, Sagalee Circle Cricket Club (SCCC) emerged as the champion of the maiden Papum Pare T20 Super League Cricket Tournament crushing Balijan Cricket Association (BCA) by 59 runs in the final, played at the PDCA cricket ground, Kolma (Doimukh) today.

True to their tag, the Sagalee team kept their winning streak intact by winning all the matches they faced in the run up to the ultimate clash.

Winning the toss, the BCA asked the SCCC to bat as the latter posted a total of 128/7 on board in their stipulated overs.

Chasing down not a very big target, the Balijan team had simply no answers to the opposition bowling attack as the wickets kept tumbling in quick intervals. Finally, they were bundled out for a measly 60 runs, with 5 overs to spare.

The winners owed it all especially to a one man - Techi Neri, who not only won the day for his team but also the tournament.

Neri was named man of the match (MoM) for his all-round skills by scoring a quick fire 90 runs inclusive of ten 4’s & three 6’s off 64 balls and claiming 3 wickets.

He was also awarded man of the series (MoS) for aggregating 222 runs, the highest in the tournament and clinching 13 wickets.
