Financial literacy camps conducted in Namsai

NAMSAI, Feb 28: The Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank (APRB) conducted financial literacy & awareness programme at Piyong & Ningroo Chariali in Namsai district in collaboration with Arunachal Pradesh State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM).
The aim of the programme was to create awareness among the general public regarding various financial products that are being offered by banks. NABARD has been playing a catalytic role in financial inclusion drives of the banks in Arunachal Pradesh.
Attending the programme, NABARD District Development Manager Kamal Roy talked about financial inclusion and financial planning. He also inaugurated the office of the Dimond PLF (Primary Level Federation) of SHGs. He briefed the participants on the flagship schemes of both the state and central governments and explained the procedure for availing benefits under the schemes.
APRB Namsai Branch Manager Chadong Lowang explained the different types of accounts that can be maintained in a bank. She also informed the gathering about the schemes that bank account holders can avail of, and highlighted the social security schemes such as PMJDY, PMSBY, PMJJBY, and APY.
Block Mission Manager, ArSRLM Namsai, Onam Tamut motivated the SHGs to take bank credit and start income generation activities and fully utilise the fund being released by ArSRLM. CEO, NOSAAP Chau Athina Chauhai briefed the SHGs about the role and functions of Farmers’ Producers Company and how value addition of agricultural products can enhance the income of SHGs.
