ITANAGAR, Apr 7: The Arunachal Pradesh Young Generation Socio-Cultural and Educational Society today alleged that Chief Minister Pema Khandu is misleading the public on construction of NH-415 (Package-A) from Chandranagar to Papu Nallah.

“We have seen that on 31st March 2021, CM Khandu has released a video of completion report of NH-415 package-A. But actually, the road is yet to finish and the fact is that it is not properly executed as per guidelines, and some most important components of road are missing and not constructed according to DPR,” said the Society chairman Raj Pao while addressing media persons here today.

He claimed that in the package-A of the highway project there are seven culverts, which are in bad condition and may collapse during the coming monsoon. Further, bus shelter, footpaths are missing along the thoroughfare; and the paved shoulder has not been properly executed as per guidelines.

Moreover, the drainage system is not constructed properly and other components of the road like crash barrier, road hump, kerbs, border control etc are also missing, he maintained, questioning how come the CM gave the road completion report.

The Society demanded the State Govt to constitute an expert committee to inquire into the matter including Rs 99.70 crore for compensation, geometric pavement and structural design of this project.

He also informed that on 12th February the Society had sent a document and video to the Prime Minister’s Office about the Trans-Arunachal highway issue and Itanagar Smart City project, and responding to our grievances the PMO had asked concerned department for action taken report but unfortunately the department has not responded yet till date.

He added that on April 20, they are going to organize a rally in the capital region in protest against CM’s alleged misleading report and non-furnishing of action taken report to the PMO by the department concerned. The rally will be taken out from Chimpu to IG Park Tennis Court here.
