Reports on cyclone damages still come in


AALO, May 3: Reports of damages by cyclone that swept West Siang continued to flow in from various quarters. The North East Frontier Technical University, located at Sipu Puyi is also damaged heavily. The SPT and kutcha structures were damaged. Moreover, the recent hailstorm led to deposition of huge mud and debris in front of the University due to water logging in the compound. The cyclone took its path in the low-lying areas and damaged many resting huts and granaries in the vastly stretched wet cultivation fields of Darka village also.
The public and farmers of the areas have urged the district administration to depute officers to assess the extent of damages and make an estimate on the same for onward submission to the Govt for consideration and necessary action. Meanwhile, the Power Department continued to brace through tough times in restoring the damaged feeder lines in many places. (DIPRO)
