ITANAGAR, May 4: The Changlang District Police claimed to have arrested three drug peddlers during the last 48 hours along with suspected brown sugar.
Acting on a tip-off, the police on Monday conducted a raid at Garaline village and arrested the two drug addicts/peddlers identified as Bownong Singpho (28) and Yesho Yobin (34) and recovered about 4.73 gram suspected brown sugar from them. Both were booked under Section 21(a)/27 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
Earlier on Sunday, the Changlang Police teaming up with the Assam Police conducted a joint raid at Margherita, and apprehended one Pramod Konwar (47), who is reportedly the ‘main’ drug supplier to Changlang. He was arrested in connection with the Changlang PS C/No 25/20 U/S 21(b)/29 NDPS Act.
