Aalo gas agencies asked to ensure home delivery of LPG cylinders

ITANAGAR/AALO, May 4: West Siang Additional Deputy Commissioner Liyi Bagra, who is also the nodal officer for Covid-19 management in the district, has given clear instructions to the gas agencies of Aalo town to ensure home delivery of LPG cylinders for the consumers in order to avoid long queue at their agency premises.
This initiative by the ADC came apparently due to the recent surge in Coronavirus cases in the district, which is having 22 active cases as on Monday. He said the crowd violates Covid-19 SOPs, giving high risk of spreading Covid-19. The other supply outlet at Aalo, ‘Bin Three Gas’ has been providing LPG cylinders to households on call and messages received through WhatsApp group opened up for consumers.
The DIPRO Aalo, meanwhile, reported that the Covid-19 SOPs like wearing of mask in public is quite encouraging in the district only after repeated awareness and imposition by the police but social distancing, use of sanitizers, minimum gathering and other do’s and don’ts cannot be imposed in toto unless denizens are pricked by their conscience.
“Administration cannot regulate everything unless the conscious public cooperate to keep this dreaded disease at bay. The tendency to panic and mad rush for everything only in a critical situation without taking prevention and precaution when needed will only complicate all endeavours.”
He further reported that when the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine was administered for the first time in the district, reluctancy was shown fearing side-effects after taking the vaccine. The HoDs had to take the vaccine first to show the way. Now, amid the second wave of Covid-19, there is a mad rush for the vaccine and long queues are seen everywhere seeing the enormity of the disease. The Health Department is going through a tough time in generating awareness about Covid safety protocols in one hand and administering the vaccine on the other.
