ITANAGAR, May 4: In an encouraging move, the Covid-19 monitoring team of Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today visited the market places in the state capital to create public awareness about the pandemic and distributed face masks and hand sanitizers to the denizens.
The team headed by its chairman cum APCC general secretary Gyamar Tana, while talking to the press informed that they have already set up a control room at their party headquarters here, while adding “anyone can contact us and our volunteers are ready to extend help and support to the needy”.
He said APCC president Nabam Tuki has requested them to carry out the philanthropic work and help the needy people including those who are suffering due to Covid-19 pandemic, and even if one is infected.
The team comprising senior party leaders including Toko Mina, Giogi Ganga and others today started the awareness drive from one of the busiest and crowded daily markets located along Chimpu-Hollongi road, then to Chimpu, Gohpur Tinali and Ganga Market area.
“We also carry PA system explaining the people about the Covid-19 SOPs and other preventive measures to be taken to remain safe from any type of infection, including Covid-19,” he said, while adding that they have distributed facemasks to more than 500 people, including shopkeepers, consumers, and commuters.
