In a new single day highest, State records 234 fresh cases

ITANAGAR, May 4: Continuing its upswing and going past yesterday’s figure, the State recorded the highest single day spike with a huge 234 new cases during the last 24 hours that took its active caseload to 1632, while the tally of confirmed cases has crossed the 19k-mark (19,192 to be specific), stated an official note.
As many as 138 persons also got cured in the period, taking the total discharged cases to 17,501. The virus has also taken away 59 lives, according to a bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services here this evening.
Itanagar Capital Complex, the most affected district, detected 65 new cases that took its caseload count to 466. Lower Dibang Valley, the second in line, found 26 cases, swelling its total active cases to 296. West Kameng, the number three in terms of infections, detected nine cases that upped its total cases to 137.
However, Anjaw registered 23 cases, Lower Subansiri 19, Papum Pare 18, East Siang 14, Namsai 12 and Changlang (also nine).
Seven cases each came from Upper Siang & Lohit, six in Tawang, five in Tirap and four in Dibang Valley. West Siang, Upper Subansiri & Siang contracted two cases each, as a single case each was found in Leparada, Pakke Kessang, Lower Siang & Kamle.
180 of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and 54 symptomatic.
Of the active caseload, at this time 1437 cases are in home isolation. This comprises 400 from ICC, 288 in LDV and 119 from P/Pare.
On the other hand, ICC came on top with 39 recoveries, closely followed by LDV at 38. E/Siang discharged 16, L/Subansiri, Changlang & Tawang (six each), P/Pare & W/Kameng (five each) and, W/Siang & Namsai (four each).  Three recovered cases each were found in Lohit & L/Siang. One recovery each came from Kurung Kumey, U/Subansiri & E/Kameng.
On a constant rise, the State today tested 3827 samples for Covid-19, taking the cumulative figure to 4,67,378, as per the bulletin.
