IMC carries out sanitization drive in Itanagar

ITANAGAR, May 12: A day after its formal launch in Naharlagun area, Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Mayor Tame Phassang today led the team of workers in sanitizing several ‘micro containment zones’ in Itanagar as identified by the district administration to contain the transmission of the highly infectious virus causing COVID-19.

The IMC with support from the State Govt and the Capital district administration has started the sanitization drive with the sole motive of making the state capital COVID free.

The Capital district administration entrusted us with the job of sanitizing all those areas/colonies earmarked as micro containment zones along with all the banking institutions, police stations, hospitals, etc. Apart from that, we are also eager to provide our services to the public seeking to sanitize their settlement areas/dwellings, the Mayor said while informing that the IMC has enough and strong team this time around.  

Along with the sanitization drive, the IMC team is also giving awareness to the public on COVID-19 pandemic, the Mayor, who was accompanied by Dy Mayor Biri Basang, EE Tadar Tarang and others, said.

Today, an IMC team sanitized the micro containment zones like ESS Sector, RWD Colony, Garden Dew School & Dominos building, and banks like, Yes Bank, ICICI, IDBI and Bank of Maharashtra, while another team did the job at P-Sector, C-Sector, Bank Tinali, Mowb-II, Niti Vihar and at the premises of SBI, PNB and Bank of Baroda.

Another team sanitized several parts of Nirjuli and Banderdewa including financial institutions, hospital, police beat, police station, Govt offices, and market areas with disinfectants. For sanitization of the capital region, IMC corporator from Ward No 19 Tarh Nachung informed, several teams have been constituted and all the corporators asked to monitor the sanitization activities in their respective jurisdiction.
