Alumni meet DC for school land demarcation

AALO, May 12: Seeking to get the issues facing their alma mater addressed, the 1991-94 batchmates of Govt Higher Secondary School, Aalo led by its president Gego Doji met West Siang Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi at his office chamber here on Tuesday and pleaded him for demarcation of the school boundary and addressing other key issues.

Appreciating the concerns of the alumni, the DC assured to carry out the demarcation of the school land as early as possible and prepare a new sketch map of the school, besides vowing all possible support from the district administration as and when needed. “Nothing can be nobler than to pay back something to (one's) alma mater,” the DC said.

The team of alumni is looking out all possible ways to shape up the school which is in a dilapidated state now. “The school that has withstood the test of time as the oldest school of undivided Siang cannot be left to rot and efforts must go on to reshape it to gain its lost glory,” they said.
