ITANAGAR, Jun 9: Several leaders of Tata mobile, autorickshaw, tempo, trekker unions today met the Capital SP Jimmy Chiram and discussed the issues related to parking of commercial vehicles along the National Highway-415 in Capital Complex.
The leaders of commercial vehicles unions led by All Capital Complex Commercial Transport Welfare Association president Tacho Dayum (Gungli) placed before the SP the grievances being faced by the drivers and owners of commercial vehicles and also the commuters due to non availability of proper parking places and designated parking locations along the NH-415 right from Chimpu to Banderdewa, and in some cases, the parking places have been encroached upon by others.
The parking places will help regulate the commercial vehicles on the street as well as smooth plying of the traffic, they reasoned. They requested the SP to intervene in the matter and notify the parking places for various categories of commercial vehicles like auto, tempo, trekker, truck, buses, taxi, Tata mobile and carriage tempo in different locations of the capital region.
The SP told the media that today, we have a good discussion with regards to parking for various types of commercial vehicles in the Capital Complex and they have requested to visit several places for the same. He said we may work out a plan with DySP (Traffic) P Nobin Jomoh and send it to DC for approval. “But finalization may not be done unless the DC is fully satisfied that all the rules and regulations including the traffic rules are being followed in letter and spirit,” he said.
