Rijiju calls for concerted efforts from all to combat Covid-19

ITANAGAR, Jun 10: Union Minister of State for Sports & Youth Affairs, AYUSH and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju today lauded the Government of Arunachal Pradesh led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu and entire ‘Team Arunachal’ for its commendable job in achieving remarkable success in combating Covid-19 despite many challenges.

Distributing the AYUSH Ministry’s proven poly herbal Ayurvedic medicine AYUSH 64 for Covid-19 patients and immunity boosting medicines and other items to the State Health Department in a programme at the Civil Secretariat here, Rijiju stated that at this trying time both the Centre and State Governments coordinated very well and worked towards managing the pandemic.

Noting that Govt alone cannot fight with such situation, the Union Minister called for concerted efforts from all stakeholders including NGOs and other corporate sectors, besides people from all corners of society to strengthen the government in managing the pandemic.

Govt of India has ensured that all essential commodities including ration items, PoL, gas etc were made available to the people at right places, Rijiju said and added that despite world economy badly affected due to this pandemic, Govt is contemplating to provide free ration to 80 crore plus people till Deepawali.

Informing that AYUSH-64 found to be highly effective in Covid management by curing moderate/mild asymptomatic cases, besides boosting immunity is highly in demand, Rijiju said considering its effectiveness, he proposed to distribute it for the benefit of the people of his home state.

Besides AYUSH-64 tablets and immunity boosting medicines, Rijiju also handed over 1,40,000 RT-PCR test kits, 5,150 Oximeters, 10 each oxygen cylinders & oxygen concentrators and other items to Health & Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang on the occasion.

In his address, Libang expressed pleasure to be a part of the Covid-19 medicines launch programme and thanked the Union Minister for his contribution towards boosting the department in the hour of need. Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Dr Sarat Chauhan also spoke and expressed his gratitude to the Union Minister for being supportive to the department towards managing the pandemic.

The programme attended by the Adviser to Minister Health and Family Welfare, Goruk Pordung, Itanagar DC Talo Potom, Papum Pare DC Pige Ligu and all Directors and senior officers of Health Dept, was also addressed by C R Khampa, Mission Director (NHM). (DIPR)
