The SP further informed that a police team has been deployed in the village to control the situation.

AAPSU condemns land grabbing bid by Chakmas

Meanwhile, the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has strongly condemned the incident calling it an attempt to occupy the ancestral land of Mishmi community. It termed the act an ample reflection of the blatant disregard for the law of land and customary practices of the indigenous people by the illegal Chakma settlers.

The union called upon the state government and the concerned district administration to view the matter seriously and arrest the culprits involved in the incident.

“This is the result of non serious attitude and lack of long term vision by the people at the helm of affairs that such incidents are rearing their ugly head again. The union will not remain a mute spectator in case of failure by the state government to book the culprits involved in the land grabbing and firing incident,” it said.

Informing that it would visit the affected area to see for itself the exact ground reality, AAPSU also urged the state government to immediately send a high level ministerial team to the affected area to ascertain the factual reason in the ground.
