ITANAGAR, Jun 17: The misconception and miscommunication between All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) and Capital SP Jimmy Chiram was amicably resolved during a joint meeting headed by Home Minister Bamang Felix at Dorjee Khandu Convention Center here today.

Soon after the reconciliation meeting, the Home Minister told the reporters that it was a misconception between ANSU and SP Chiram which was amicably resolved in the joint meeting and also decision taken to further serve the society unitedly during this pandemic time.

The misunderstanding was generated during Itanagar lockdown period when the SP was looking after the law and order of the capital region and the ANSU team led by Nabam Dodum was distributing rations to all needy public and students in the capital region.

Felix also informed that in the meeting, the SP has expressed his regret if he has hurt the sentiment of someone during duty, or by his subordinate officers. With this, the matter has been solved and the ANSU also expressed its keen interest to serve the society by cooperating with the state government and district administration.

Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Mama Natung, who along with MLA Hayeng Mangfi also attended the meeting, said it was a small misunderstanding between SP and ANSU, which was resolved amicably, saying ‘in a big state with so many tribes and sub-tribes, such small mistakes may happen’.

ANSU president Nabam Dodum said ‘it was a small misunderstanding between us which was resolved through an unofficial apology within us. And we decided to work together for the welfare of our people’.

Earlier, the students’ union had served a seven-day ultimatum to the State Govt demanding immediate transfer of the Capital SP and unconditional apology for his alleged derogatory and unparliamentary remarks against the ANSU.
