Tedir exhorts APRB to reach new heights

NAHARLAGUN, Jun 17: Education Minister Taba Tedir has visited Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank (APRB) here on Wednesday and had a meeting with its Chairman Dr Deepak Kumar Gupta in regards to banking services in various parts of the State.

Tedir appealed the staffers of the State-owned bank to rededicate themselves for the cause of Arunachal and its people. He also motivated them to work in high spirits and take the bank to new heights.

The Minister congratulated the entire APRB team for crossing the business of Rs 1100 crore-mark and post-tax profit of Rs 6 crore during last financial year. It was a miraculous effort by Dr Gupta for turning around the performance of the bank under his leadership.

The APRB Chairman informed the Minister that APRB is serving more than 2.50 lakh citizens across Arunachal Pradesh with 31 branches and 110 regular staff and almost 60 outsourced staff and has presence in far-flung areas like Nacho, Taliha, Riga, Geku, Mariyang, Rumgong, Dumporijo, etc.

The Bank is now flexing its muscles by opening not less than 10 ATMs across the State.

Dr Gupta informed that opening of ATM at Yachuli and Yazali under the Minister’s constituency is also in the pipeline. Bank will convert itself to paperless bank by implementing micro ATM in all branches soon and opening of new accounts with paperless video KYC mode.

This government bank is doing extremely good towards SHG financing in Arunachal under the guidance Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, Dr Gupta added.
