City police seize more cash, weapons

ITANAGAR, Mar 15: Continuing crack down on unaccounted money as per Model Code of Conduct (MCC) with this in force since the announcement of elections schedule by the Election Commission of India on march 10 last, the Capital Police on Thursday night reportedly seized more cash along with other items like daos from different places.

In order to check flow of unaccounted money, arms and weapons to influence the election, the capital police have been conducting intensive checking in various locations.

On Thursday night, Capital Police along with flying squads & static surveillance team seized Rs 2.20 lakh, 10 packets of airgun pellets and 26 daos/knives.

Reiterated that the intensive checking will be continued till the MCC is in force, the city police requested the public not to carry arms or other banned items and cash amount above Rs 50,000 without justification or proof of genuine purposes.
