State records one more fatality, toll at 271 COVID tests cross 11-L mark


ITANAGAR, Sep 14: After an interruption of two days, Arunachal Pradesh today reported one more casualty that leaped the State’s death toll to 271.
A 42-year-old male from Lower Subansiri district, who was suffering from renal transplant, diabetes mellitus type II and hypertension, tested positive for Covid-19 at GTGH, Hapoli on August 25, was admitted at DCHC, Hapoli on August 30. He died there yesterday (9.20 pm) due to COVID pneumonia, ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome) with septic shock and renal failure. The patient didn’t receive any dose of a vaccine, informed State Surveillance Officer (IDSP), Dr L Jampa.
The body was handed over to the family members as per Covid-19 SOPs, said Dr Jampa.
Meanwhile, the State today witnessed more recoveries than the daily cases.
65 new cases were recorded during the past 24 hours that swelled the State’s tally of confirmed cases to 53872. On the other hand, 69 recuperated in the period that dipped its active caseload to 528 and increased the total discharged cases to 53073.
Itanagar Capital Complex, the worst hit district, found 14 cases that raised its active caseload to 92.
Lower Subansiri stayed at second spot with a tally of 56, while West Kameng stood at third with 55 cases.
Of the total cases, 42 turned out to be asymptomatic and 23 symptomatic.
On the brighter side, L/Subansiri came up with 14 recoveries, followed by ICC at 12. Anjaw also discharged eight cases.
Meanwhile, the State’s Covid tests have crossed the 11-lakh mark as it tested 3983 samples that took its cumulative figure to 11,01,817.
