ITANAGAR, Sep 18: Arunachal Pradesh BJP president Biyuram Waghe on Friday launched the ‘Seva Aur Samarpan Abhiyan’ to mark the 71st birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the party’s state headquarters here in presence of Ministers, state office bearers and karyakartas.

Prominent among those who attended include Environment & Forests Minister Mama Natung, Education Minister Taba Tedir, Industries Minister Tumke Bagra, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Nabam Rebia, and MLAs Jummum Ete Deori and Dasanglu Pul.

Waghe, while speaking on the occasion, said that the Abhiyan was being launched across the state by undertaking various welfare activities for next 20 days till October 7 next by highlighting the achievement and life of Narendra Modi.

Earlier, BJP general secretary cum MLA Zingu Namchoom delivered the welcome address and state vice-president Nani Laji delivered speech on life and achievement of PM Modi. The launching ceremony was followed by cutting of birthday cake.

At Tawang, local MLA Tsering Tashi has on Friday launched the ‘Seva aur Samarpan Abhiyaan’ in Tawang to mark the 71st birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On the occasion, Tashi alongwith PRI leaders and public leaders felicitated the ex-servicemen and farmers of Tawang under ‘Kisan-Jawan Samman’ programme. He expressed gratitude to the ex-servicemen and farmers and prayed for long and healthy life of PM Modi.

Later in the day, the public leaders led by the MLA donated blood and distributed fruits to the patients at KDS District Hospital, Tawang. Earlier, while speaking on the occasion, Tashi appealed to the PRI members and public leaders to dedicate their service for social development during the 20-day mega public outreach program by organising social services, blood donation and mass awareness on COVID-19, etc.

“Our country under the leadership of PM Modi is progressing on all fronts''. Citing an example of road development, he said: “we can witness that Balipara-Charduar-Tawang road was under construction for the last 25 years but progress made in the last three-four years are exemplary. The upcoming (Nechiphu & Sela) tunnels and airports in different parts of the state were a distant dream in the past, but some of the mini airports in state are made operational now, and border security has been strengthened.”

“We should be happy and proud to have the opportunity to work under his leadership. Like our Prime Minister we all should also keep the nation in our first priority,” he added.

He informed about the government’s plan to connect the border towns through a railway project, but at the same time expressed concern for shortage of land availability in Tawang for the said project.

Further speaking on the importance of Bhoti language he said we already have a script which needs to be learnt like any other language we learn. “We have already lost two precious years in this COVID pandemic and education of our children has suffered, but now it’s high time that we all work collectively towards education development,” he said and appealed to the village council and PRI members to monitor the functioning of schools and bring back normal sessions.

BJP Tawang district president Sange Chhodup, ZPC Leki Gombu, president, Ex-Servicemen Association of Tawang Thupten Wangdi, and senior public leaders Pema Ngawang and Thutan Gombu also spoke on the occasion. (DIPRO)
