Follow COVID-19 SOPs in letter & spirit: DC

ZIRO, Sep 18: Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Somcha Lowang on Friday inspected a few residential schools in Ziro valley to check whether COVID-appropriate behaviour and SOPs have been adopted by the schools.

The DC, who was accompanied by DMO Dr Tage Kanno and Nada Duri from the Education department, interacted with the students and asked them to follow the COVID-19 SOPs issued by the district administration in letter and spirit.

DC Lowang also directed the school heads to ensure physical and social distancing is maintained in the classrooms and hostels, and mandatory use of sanitizers and face masks.

The team also took stock of the vaccination status of the teaching and non-teaching staff and directed the school in-charges to submit the updated status to the DC office. The team further took stock of the status of isolation rooms and the SOPs adopted by the schools in case of any positive cases.

"We won't hesitate to issue closure of hostels if COVID-19 SOPs are violated,” the DC further added while instructing the school authorities to maintain hygiene in the hostels. (DIPRO)
