Spl RI Campaign linking 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' launched across State


ITANAGAR, Oct 4: With an eye on intensifying COVID vaccination drive and 90% full immunization coverage of children by August 2022, a special routine immunization campaign for 0-2 years children and pregnant women, besides “augmentation and saturation of 1st and 2nd dose of COVID vaccine”, was launched across the State today, as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
At Pasighat, the Spl RI campaign was inaugurated by Health Minister Alo Libang.
The Capital district witnessed the event launched by Dr Emi Rumi, Director Family Welfare at the Urban Primary Health Centre, Itanagar in presence of DMO, DRCHO, staff, public and media.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rumi appealed to all staff of health facilities to carry out vaccination duty sincerely to achieve the target to protect children from all vaccine preventable diseases and adults from Covid-19.
As on 3rd October 2021, the total number of vaccination doses administered (dose 1 + dose 2) in Capital district is 1,70,749, which includes 1,06,150 (124%) dose 1 and 64,599 (75%) dose 2 respectively. The target for 18 yrs and above is 85508. In order to attain good immunity against Covid-19, a complete 2 dose is essential. The beneficiaries who are due for either 1st dose or 2nd dose shall be tracked and mobilized to COVID vaccination centre.
Under this activity, as part of the objectives, the Health department will prepare a list of beneficiaries who are due for 2nd dose till 31st Oct’21.
Every beneficiary will be mapped with the responsible circle officer, medical officer and ASHA.
The COVID vaccination sessions will be conducted as per the beneficiary list under the direct supervision of respective Deputy Commissioners.
The objectives also include a head count survey of 0-2 years children and pregnant women will be conducted in all villages/area by ASHA & Anganwadi workers, following which a micro plan will be prepared based on which the vaccination session will be conducted on every Tuesday (fixed session) and Wednesday (outreach session).
PASIGHAT: Health Minister Alo Libang today launched special RI catchup campaign for pregnant women and 0-2 yrs babies at the Sille PHC in presence of local MLA Ninong Ering, DHS Dr M Lego, State Immunization Officer Dr Dimong Padung, Ruksin ADC Tajing Jonnom, DMO Dr Kaling Dai, DRCHO Dr Tatok Gao and others.
The Minister launched the drive by administering oral polio vaccine drop to a child beneficiary.
As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Libang also launched augmentation & saturation of 1st and 2nd dose COVID vaccine and Spl RI Campaign and 90% FI coverage by August 2022.
Speaking on the occasion, Libang said that the largest COVID-19 vaccination drive in the country was launched on 16th January, 2021. Since launch, various categories were included in order to scale up the coverage. Many strategies have been adopted in order to attain the maximum vaccination coverage. He informed that as on 29th September 2021, the vaccination coverage of 1st dose and 2nd dose were 7,59,125 (75%) and 4,13,373 (41%) respectively.
The Minister sought wholehearted support from all levels of health workers, PRI leaders, GBs and all citizens to make the ‘mission’ effective and successful.
The MLA expressed his gratitude to PM Modi and CM Pema Khandu for linking such a special campaign to Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and appealed to the people to cooperate in the mission for 100 per cent vaccination.
The DHS and DMO also spoke on the occasion.
TAWANG: Celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava at Khandro Drowa Sangmo District Hospital, local MLA Tsering Tashi today launched a Spl RI catchup campaign for 0-2 yrs children and pregnant women and augmentation and saturation of 1st and 2nd dose of Covid vaccine for Tawang district.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that the State government is working seriously in developing health infrastructures with adequate manpower. He appreciated the sincere and dedicated service being provided by the team of doctors and conveyed his gratitude to all health workers who have shown true professionalism during the pandemic and continuing their selfless service.
Speaking on vaccination he said due to the hard work put in by all the health workers, today our villagers are aware and willingly taking vaccines, and this has helped us to minimize the severity of infection, though few cases of Covid-19 are still coming up but with less severity.
He further said that while collecting data Asha workers should be closely coordinated so that no one is left behind without vaccination. The Asha workers have information of each village they are assigned, and they should create more awareness and encourage institutional births so that a new born child gets vaccinated from the very beginning for any infectious disease.
DC Tawang Sang Phuntsok, in his address, said that Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is being celebrated all over the country and true meaning of celebration can be achieved by working seriously and dedicatedly for all-round development of our nation. We must work hard to achieve the target given to us by the government, be it vaccination or any other developmental work.
He asked the Health department, Tawang to achieve the RI target before August, 2022.
Earlier, Medical Superintendent KDS District Hospital (Tawang) Dr N.Namshum informed that routine immunization performance of the district is very good and so far, it has achieved 85 percent, and target given by state govt will be achieved by August 2022.
He further informed that the district has already achieved 100 percent coverage of first dose of Covid vaccine, and 77% in second dose, but there is some discrepancy in the data being provided by the Government and actual population, which will be sorted out soon.
Later MLA and DC along with DMO, MS and other officers inspected the CT scan machine and its functioning and discussed the issue on further development required to improve health infrastructure in the DH Tawang.
