Arunachal's daily Covid case count drops

Itanagar, Jan 13: Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday recorded 132 fresh Covid19 cases - 54 less than the previous day's count - that took its overall tally of confirmed cases past the 56,000-mark, a senior health official said.

With the addition of the new cases, the state's cumulative figure of virus-infected people rose to 56,010 and the active caseload to 665. Conversely, with two persons getting cured of the infection, the total number of recovered cases reached 55,063.

The Northeastern state's Covid death toll remained 282 as no fresh casualties were reported during the past 24 hours.

Of the new detections, Itanagar Capital Complex accounted for the highest number of cases (42), followed by Changlang (26) and West Kameng (19) districts. 67 of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and 65 symptomatic.

The day's positivity rate was 12.47 percent, 1.24 percent less than the previous day's figure (13.71 percent)

Arunachal Pradesh's recovery rate has slightly come down to 98.54 percent. The fatality rate is 0.50 percent, while the overall case positivity rate increased to 0.96 percent, the official said. (UNI)
