‘Resolve the discrepancy in vaccination percentage’

TAWANG, Jan 13: A meeting cum training for all the members of District Task Force on Immunization (DTFI) was held at the DC conference hall here today.

The meeting was chaired by in-charge Deputy Commissioner Tawang Lobsang Tsering and was attended by DMO Dr Wangdi Lama, DRCHO Dr Rinchin Neema, DDSE Hridhar Phuntsok, CDPO Tawang Dondup Pema, all medical officers of CHCs/PHCs, HWOs and other members of DTFI.

Addressing the house, the in-charge DC asked the DMO and DRCHO to resolve the discrepancy in percentage of vaccination, since according to head count Tawang district has covered almost 99% of the public besides few refusals. However, the data doesn’t match with that of the reflected data on the portal and target given by higher authority, he said.

Lauding the team work, dedication and sincerity of all the health workers in providing their service to the general public in this pandemic and as always, he exhorted them to put more efforts in covering all the eligible children and others under routine as well as COVID vaccination programme. Though the schools are closed due to a surge in new Covid-19 cases, he instructed the DDSE and CDPO to ensure that all the eligible children between 15-18 years age group get vaccinated.

The DRCHO, while seeking cooperation from all, said that the immunization programme is the most important component of the health system, and we need to work seriously on it.

Later, a series of power points were presented on how to conduct re-head counting of beneficiaries and dropouts, conducting of safe National Immunization Day on 23rd January, Intensified Mission Indradhanush from 7th February by H Pegu and oxygen stewardship programme by Dr Ashish Pao and Dr Thutan Tsering.
