Guv urges APPSC to ensure error free conduct of recruitment exams

ITANAGAR, Jan 19: State Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra has advised the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) to uphold the prestige of the institution by ensuring error free conduct of State competitive examinations, while emphasizing that “merit must be the sole criteria for the recruitments”. 

The Governor gave this advice when the APPSC members and officials led by its Chairman Nipo Nabam called on him at the Raj Bhavan here today to discuss about conduct of examinations, fixing of examinations calendar and APPSC building construction matters.

During the meeting, the Governor commended the members “for their competency, integrity and professionalism in maintaining high benchmark and efficiency of the Commission”.

He also advised the Commission to prepare the annual examination calendar in coordination with the State government so that best of the youths are selected for the premier services of the government.

Earlier, the APPSC Chairman briefed the Governor about the critical issues related to vacancies and advertisements which the State Government has to furnish in good time to the Commission.  

APPSC members Tsering Naksang, Maj Gen (Retd) Ganesh Singh Bisht and Mepung Tadar Bage, Secretary Dr Jayanta Kumar Ray, Joint Secretary cum Comptroller of Examination Suraj Gurung, Deputy Secretary Taket Jerang and Under Secretary Tumi Gangkak were present in the meeting.
